Who is this guy?
Edgardo L. Torres was born and raised in Puerto Rico (P.R.). Today, he brings more than 25 years of experience as a CPA and has helped hundreds of small and medium size businesses overcome many obstacles and be successful in what they do. Thanks to this, he has the business and leadership skills necessary to help clients manage accounting deadlines, implement payroll, prepare tax plans, and develop budget and cash-flow forecasts.
Experience and Achievements
From 1989 to 1993 Edgardo was the Senior Auditor at Lopez Alejandro & Co (LA&Co) in P.R. where he was in charge of audit field work, responsible for the completion of every audit, and assisted Audit Manager in exit conferences with the Board of Directors.
Then, in 1993, he left LA&Co to start his own firm, TORRES-ORTIZ CPA. This gave him the opportunity to work with hundreds of businesses in different industries like Healthcare, Professional Firms, Wholesalers, Retailers, Sub-contractors, Real Estate Agencies, and others. Five years later, TORRES-ORTIZ CPA served as the Controller of San Juan Health Centre, one of the biggest Health Care Facilities (Hospitals) in the Caribbean.
In 2007, he left his hometown and relocated to Canton, GA. Once settled in, he founded A&E ACCOUNTING TAX SERVICE, PC in 2008. Since then, he has put together a team of professionals that serve over 800 clients of which more than 100 are businesses.
At Home
Edgardo Torres is married to his wife Maritza Cruz and has two kids. Both their kids followed their dad's example and became accountants, and currently help him manage the family business. Edgardo enjoys playing pool and boating with his family.
